It has been several months since I checked in with everyone and a lot has been happening. I thought I’d mention a few things to bring you up to speed and also for prayer.
In May, I am anticipating a visit to about a dozen assemblies in the Maritimes. We have some faithful supporters there and I look forward to sharing with them what the Lord is doing through FBH International and our ministry partners.
A recent report from our friends at Arab World Media encouraged us with both statistics and stories. Here is a graphical presentation of highlights from 2017. The easiest way to understand this is to read down each column after noting the explanations at the top.
Last week, we lost a dear friend of the ministry. When I first joined FBH in 1993, Frank Webb did all of the cassette duplication as a volunteer. After a few years, demand for cassettes dried up and we shifted to CDs. When that technology gave way to on-line file distribution, Frank still came in every week to pray with me. In the last few years, mobility issues hindered him from coming to the office, so contact was less frequent. Frank was 93 when the Lord called him home. Please pray for his wife, Nancy, and the family as they adjust to life without him.
FBH International is a founding partner of Legacy Ministries Canada. It was conceived for the express purpose of facilitating planned giving to assembly-based ministries. Crawford Paul, who is a member of the FBH board of directors, is the President of Legacy Ministries and I serve on that organization’s board, so we have close links in both directions. Visit fbhinternational.com/Legacy-Brochure to see the kind of services Legacy Ministries makes available. There are significant benefits (particularly of the tax kind) to donors who make use of these services which are available without cost.
We continue to pursue our plans for succession in the ministry. An announcement will be coming soon.
Before signing off, allow me to mention that our Lord faithfully sustained us through the usual financial dry time we experience in the dead of winter. May I encourage you to respond to Him as He prompts you to give in the days ahead? We’re looking to Spring as the growing season in multiple ways.
As always, I want to thank you for your interest in, and support of, FBH International and our partners. We are grateful that when the Lord reminds you of us, you respond!
